I would also love to get the kind of lucky break the Vacek teams just did. Not having to do domestique duty for Pedersen in the classics (plus no Pedersen to finish ahead of him) radically changes his potential as a pick.

I guess today's TT neutralization already negates a little bit of that luck (at least in this race).

He can ofcourse still challenge for a good GC but that would have been a lot easier with a strong TT.

It's also not good news for Evenepoel owners as a GC win is definitely not that clear cut right now against (among others) a stacked UAE and with some of his own teammates that could potentially take their chance now if everyone's looking at Evenepoel.

While this is the best possible result on the day, the neutralization is (at least potentially) very bad with regards to the GC situation and prospects.

But maybe they do it all over again on Saturday and the three of them ride into the sunset on the Cumbre del Sol.

Great to see Kockelmann winning, but at the same time I’m starting to worry that missing Vlasov could be an absolutely colossal mistake. Raccagni Noviero’s Aussie campaign looked promising and Hector Alvarez got off to a better start than expected, so I think we’re still on the plus side at the start of the season. Vlasov, though…

It would be a good time for Bettiol to wake up now and ride away to glory in the Muscat Classic.

It also seems like Vlasov is a very dangerous rider to have purposefully omitted from my team. He was just so unconvincing for the whole of last season that I didn't want to bother but that looks likely to be extremely costly.

Yeah yay for Kockelmann (one of the picks I am most excited about) but I had Vlasov in the stick a fork in him he’s done basket as his decline seemed so mysterious I didn’t expect him to snap it and have a revival.

So also a yay for Kockelmann from my side. Although I am still a bit worried, as Kockelmann said in an interview after the finish, that the initial plan was, that he makes the lead out for Grisel. Seems that he is not that high in the picking order in Lotto yet. Hopefully that win helped.

What I am still more concerned is, that basically the two most popular picks, that I don´t have Vlasov and Decomble looking both good and are on their way to score. These two can definitely hurt me.

Same. Also more than a bit concerned about my most expensive pick, Evenepoel, tbh. Fairly narrow wins over Rondel (motor-paced) and Vlasov, and Remco seemingly going all out in the TT (post-race comments) don't give me much confidence, as his climbing level didn't look that great considering the subpar fields. I expected a vulgar display of power in the ITT at least. Didn't happen.

I had one rider in the top 63 and two DNFs. I would have gained the same amount of points if I had picked the Omani national team or Oumaïma Rayane.

Muscat. I had two riders - and both scored points so I'm happy.
Vansevenant ending 8th is perhaps not the best result one could have hoped for, but that he ended up 4th in a 30 man sprint is a great sign.

While I'm starting to be concerned about not picking him. Especially if he continues to win everything. I don't need many more of those 'I just raced because I was here anyway' and boom 160 points. With Vingegaard out of UAE, Remco might get an insane amount of points from there as well on top of the big haul for likely winning Valenciana.

My most expensive pick Buitrago hasn't exactly had a stellar points-per-raceday so far. And Morgado might miss out on a bunch of easy points with the likely cancellation of the Figueira Classic.
