Just a heads up if you are trying to make sense of your points from the TdF on @Shakes 's website: Team time trial points are included, but not listed in the riders' results sheet.
 
Still no CQ update posted. I will be checking fairly frequently and will update as soon as possible!
 
Hopefully, I can scrape together a few points in the coming days...
 
With Pogacar likely going to the vuelta, Evenepoels schedule for the rest of the season, could turn him into a really game changing pick..

2023: 2939 points
2024: 2835 points

It is pretty realistic to believe he could land around those same numbers again and in a good scenario he has potential to slightly top it.

Very few race days, not much margin for error though. Not sure there's anything that makes much sense between San Sebastian and Canada but I'd like to see him add a couple more races there (Plouay maybe ?). In my completely unbiased opinion, of course.

Edit: winning San Sebastian, the WC ITT and Chrono des Nations and finish 5th in all the other races on his program would yield 1050 points putting him at 3050 points for the year.

That's a somewhat conservative estimate, isn't it? A 2nd in Lombardia is almost more realistic than a 5th I'd say.

For sure. But you figure he might have an off day in there or the race tactics go against him at some point so that's why I bumped him down a couple spots from where he would be expected to finish based on ability/form.

I guess the biggest factor to consider is that this is the 2026 CQ game. So with very few exceptions, riders don't even show up to races, and if they do, they don't score. So I apologize for my unwarranted optimism on your rider's behalf. 😀

Knowing your jinxing powers, I'll blame you if anything goes wrong for Remco at any point.

By the way, redoing the previous analysis but changing his 5th places with 3rd places 'only' pushes him up to 3210. At his level the downside of whiffing on a race is much more impactful than getting a couple places better than expected.
 
Joseph Blackmore and Max Poole on the startlist for San Sebastian. Will they really ride this time? I should not have too high hopes...

This random EF guy had been picked 34 times in this game... 😉
 
So it's San Sebastian on Saturday. If I can beleive the provisional start list on PCS I will have no fewer than 14 riders on the start line... Will probably be a few less (Poole etc) and most of them aren't capable of competing against the likes of Evenpoel anyway. So no big hopes despite the numbers.
 
Any idea, when Albert Whiten Philipsen will come back to competition?
He was very good in Romandie, but crashed then hard in training and no news since then.. thought, that we should see him in the first races after the tour, but he is not in the team of Lidl-Trek in Denmark and also not in San Sebastian..
 
Evenepoel pickers can rest easy now.
Looking like he'll be a pretty good, if not amazing pick

He very likely does much better than that so 3,000 points looks like his floor if he stays healthy and motivated.
 
If Pogacar does the Vuelta and can round off the season with the same big 3 wins as 2025 then he could be looking at a score in excess of 5,500.

and Max Poole not anymore in the startlist.. still for Burgos, but looking at his Strava I am not too optimistic for him this season..

Nys is apparently listed for the Vuelta so this might be his last chance to score some real points. Verstrynge was invisble during the Tour but outstanding in the Ardennes so hopeful he can nab something here. This should fit Van Eetvelt fairly well. Not expecting anything from Hirt or Novak. Van Gils will be on domestique duty. Widar and Rodriguez are my main GC guys (with Nordhagen who isn't riding here) for the Vuelta so curious to see where they are at.

I've had Carr, Buitrago and Sanchez removed from San Seb startlist, and Buitrago is also removed from Burgos.

And the first thing I see now when going to check PCS is this:
'Crash by Foldager Anders (Denmark) in peloton'

Yeah, I think I'll just go back to not following this CQ season very closely.

If Remco is super dominant and goes long range then a good Van Gils could still feature in the scrap for the podium.
