Brenner sealing the GC while Küng wins the TT itself might be the best day of my season. Also decent points for Vlasov and Kron. And Pelayo Sánchez got his first non-finishing points of the year!

Well it will take slightly less time to choose a team but as far as the game is concerned the fewer obvious picks, the better

I agree with you there but equally there were several obvious picks for this year that have flopped for a variety of reasons and failed to even come close to last years score that was low enough to make them a top pick.

The main events of this mid-summer week were the WT Tour of Poland and the 2.Pro Vuelta a Burgos, and with WT level points on a wide-open event, the week was ripe for teams with relatively rare picks to shine.
This Week's Top Scorers
The very first CQ game winner ingsve comes out on top this week in a real close race, nabbing 567 points thanks mainly to World Tour stage race winner Marco Brenner - feeling strange to type that - pulling in 301 points for his 9 owners. Of course, a team is more than one rider, so ingsve also has a finally-performing Enric Mas (76, 27), Aleksandr Vlasov (59, 28) and Andreas Kron (40, 38) to thank as well. Earns1985 finishes a mere 3 points back with Brenner/Mas/Kron and Leo Bisiaux (56, 21), while Crevaison takes third with Brenner/Vlasov/Bisiaux/Kron.

Second through 7th are separated by 103 points, while other teams aren't that much further back. ingsve's top week moves their team into the top 10 at the expense of manafana, who falls out.

Hmm.. have to say that I am a bit dissapointed by this as Shakes website showed me as the weekly winner on monday. The reason I think is, that Noah Hobbs points from last monday had already been part of your previous update and not in this one...

Pithie was already getting on my nerves 600 points ago.
Yes next year of course basically everybody will have him in his team.
But given how close everything is together this season, his injury could really have a game-deciding impact.
He is right now in 15 of the top 20 teams in the current overall teams. His potentially 500 points, which he would have been likely to get, could become really important in the end..

The late summer stage races always provide an interesting opportunity for riders to break out, with post-Tour riders cooling down and pre-Vuelta riders having selective targets, there are opportunities to score points that might not be available in other comparable races at other times of the year. And so it was this week, with some rare riders once again taking the spotlight.
This Week's Top Scorers
The top 5 teams clear 500 points on the week, with Avioraz and zigzag wanderer a step above the rest. Avioraz ekes out the victory with 655 points; the most notable contributor to this was young American AJ August, who did quite well for himself in the uphill finishes of the 2.Pro Czech Tour, scoring 231 points for his 11 owners with a couple of stages, the overall and some days in the leader's jersey. Also contributing was Lennert Van Eetvelt (130 points, 68 teams) who finally has a decent showing after limping through the season. Laurence Pithie (96, 46 - reaching 999 on the season), Paul Penhoet (83, 4), and Adria Pericas (70, 25) are other notables.
In 2nd was zigzag wanderer, who was missing Penhoet from Avoiraz's combo but had help from Noah Hobbs (57, 34) and unique pick Ludovico Crescioli (40). In 3rd, 90 points behind, was triley36, who had August/LVE/Pithie/Hobbs.

After a disappointing Tour de France, my team leader having broken his collarbone, I just checked how many points are up for grabs at the World Championships. 400. I'm very interested. I'm now going to start working on a strategy centered around my various potential winners.
